Vegan MoFo: Traditional Irish Hallowe'en

For those of you who don't know (the amount of times I had to explain when I was abroad that Hallowe'en isn't American!) Hallowe'en originates in pre-Christian Ireland.
Another interesting fact, in Ireland the traditional vegetable to carve a scary face into is a turnip! Pumpkins became popular when the tradition was brought over to America by Irish immigrants as pumpkin is an abundant native Autumnal crop there the way turnips/swedes are in Ireland.

Although it's easy enough to get a vegan brack (some of the cheaper brands found in the supermarket are 'accidentally vegan'), I decided this year for the first time to make my own by adapting this recipe, replacing the chicken egg with Organ 'No Egg' powder. Cakey, fruity, delicious and perfect with tea!

Happy Hallowe'en everyone!
