Spelt sourdough / Nature & Moi vegan goat cheese / Zest pesto
Tesco is stocking Violife and Nature & Moi vegan cheeses at the moment. I never thought I would see the day when vegan cheeses become so mainstream!
Anyway, one of the Nature & Moi flavours struck me as being a bit unusual, and piqued my curiosity... I never had goats cheese in my pregan days, but for €2.80 I figured it was worth trying!
I nibbled a little bit out of the corner of the packet and it struck me as being much sweeter than I expected. It's definitely a flavour profile I'm not used to in a cheese. I think it is the type of cheese that needs to be complimented with other flavours, so I melted it on some nice spelt sourdough bread with some Zest pesto. It went nicely with the pesto, so I will have to experiment with other combinations. Anyone have any recommendations?
Ooooh, vegan goat cheese! I wish we could get that over here in the U.S. That sounds awesome.

ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments guys! The brand is French, but I got it in Tesco. Tesco don't sell their own brand vegan cheeses here, so maybe we get these instead?
ReplyDeleteThank you! I will have to look next time I am in Tesco. In England we get the Tesco own brand and they have started stocking Violife in a block and the slices and also the Violife parmesan.
