It turned out okay, I wasn't hugely enthusiastic about the taste, even though I left out the sugar it still tasted quite sweet. I'm not sure if its a taste I just have to adjust to, I'm thinking I might add more vinegar/lemon juice to it.
I think I went a little bit mad..... the combination of health shops and money do that to me!
I bought sauerkraut, nutritional yeast, dried beans, shampoo, vitamins, miso, buckwheat noodles and mozzarella 'Cheezly'.
I was in Hell Pizza on Wexford St for the first time on Friday, I went because I'd heard that they have vegan pizza. I had a 'Sinister' pizza, their only entirely vegan option. It came with jalapenos, avocado, refried beans, salsa and onion. It was lovely, it was beautifully spicy but I couldn't help but feel that there was something missing from it. I started thinking about pizza toppings, whenever I make pizza I put it with loads of sauce and veg and I love it, but after my pizza in Hell I got thinking about soya cheese, which lead me to buy the mozzarella. When I got home from town I made pizza bread with it, like so..
It was really tasty, it reminded me of pre-vegan pizza, I even watched the cheese melt under the grill! I don't particularly miss or crave cheese in my everyday life but I have to say that the Cheezly does make a lovely addition to pizza. I still have to try the sauerkraut, nutritional yeast and miso, I'm trying to think of ideas of how to use them. I also have a tin of artichoke hearts that I'm pondering over. I'll no doubt be busy cooking (and eating) for the next few days.. I'll miss all my spare cooking time when I go back to college!
