Everyone has recipes they go to when they don't feel particularly creative, or just when they want something they know they'll like.
Mine tend to involve jarred tomato pasta sauce, soya sauce, frozen vegetables and tinned beans.
I'm the only vegetable eater in my family so its easier to either buy fresh vegetables in small amounts, buy large amounts to freeze or just buy frozen vegetables. I buy spices with high hopes despite the fact that I generally amn't very good at using them. I also have brown pasta, rice and quinoa.
My basic go-to food:
- Stir-fried whatever vegetables are in the freezer with whatever grain I'm in the mood for.
- Veg mixed up with tomato pasta sauce with pasta. With beans and tabasco its chilli!
- Noodles, frozen spinach and powdered miso soup, my makeshift ramen.
- Toasted bread with pesto
- Whatever bread I have pizza- tomato sauce/salsa, veg of choice, grill
- Baked beans on toast
Sometimes I microwave vegetables like Dino suggests in his podcast with spices, it works out quite well when I need quick, good food.
