I found this Violife cheese in a local independent supermarket for only €2.99. Imagine my shock and joy!
They also had some of the Violife cheese blocks but I have been waiting to try the cream cheese for ages. Before I was vegan I loved cream cheese, and I haven't really taken to any vegan cream cheeses. The vegan cream cheeses I've tried have been edible but not amazing. Tofutti is too sweet, Sheese is too vinegary and VBites is basically just a softer version of their mozzarella.
So my verdict on Violife? I am impressed and amazed! It is smooth, creamy, neutral and and has a fantastic mouth-feel. It is definitely the reigning champion of vegan cream cheeses by a mile. Hopefully it will stay in stock the supermarket so it can be a regular purchase.
