Chickpea energy bars (No Meat Athlete)

Following the formula here, I made these energy/protein bars with the following ingredients:
Banana, chickpeas, maple syrup, flaxseed, soya protein powder (left over from an attempt to make marshmallows), cinnamon, oats, flaked almonds, chocolate chips (made from a chopped up chocolate bar).

The bars turned out fine, definitely edible but the protein powder leaves a discernable aftertaste that overpowers the other flavours. Next time I will either use another dry ingredient instead of the protein powder or mix it with something else. I would also add more sweetener. The texture is that of a moist, slightly cakey flapjack, no chickpea taste. Chocolate chips never hurt either :)

I like the idea of a formula, it makes the recipe alot more flexible to what you like and what have in the house.
