A brief glance at fitness

I have signed up with a group of friends to do an endurance race in just over three months time and so have started training.

I wanted to talk about this as I feel like the world of fitness in general, including vegan fitness, is quite intimidating and at times problematic. I don't want to promote concepts endemic in fitness circles such as body shaming and food shaming.

My goal isn't weight loss or muscle sculpting, my goal is to increase my physical fitness so I can do a crazy endurance race which will involve getting very wet and mucky.

I am happy with my body the way it is and won't be going on any kind of restrictive diet. I am honestly not interested in the minute detailing that sometimes comes with fitness blogging and discussion, I won't be writing about distances, weights, calories and goals. I am setting my own goals, one of which is taking things at my own pace and enjoying myself. Listening to podcasts and enjoying the sea breeze.

There is much more to be said about looking at the fitness industry through an intersectionist lens but that is for another day.
