Brunch from the all-vegan juice bar/restaurant Juicy Jones (carrer Cardenal).
Orange juice, coffee with soya milk, scrambled tofu, bread with tomato, chocolate and banana pancakes, muesli with fruit in yoghurt (I think they make their own cashew yoghurt) and jam. The muesli and pancakes were lovely but the tofu scramble wasn't fantastic. Edible but cold and a bit bland, rescued by the tomato bread. All for €6.95, which is really good value, making up for the slow service and uncomfortable bar seats.
Juicy Jones also have a sit-down restaurant with tables on Carrer Hospital but it is not as central and I amn't sure if it serves the breakfast and brunch menu, I will have to check!

Oh, now I want to go back to Barcelona! I loved that city, so it's great to discover your blog :D
ReplyDeleteI went there three years ago, when I was still vegetarian and not vegan yet, my partner and I looooved the restaurant Sesamo. So I hope they have vegan options when we go back someday :-)
Hi Sara, thanks for the comment!:)
DeleteI have never been to Sesamo, but there are lots of vegan options here in Barcelona so you wouldn't go hungry!
yeah, i definitely wish I'd found your blog before I went to Barcelona! I actually managed pretty well, mostly eating stuff from health food stores (and maoz falafel)... but I should have done more advanced research! I'm so glad to hear that there are plenty of vegan options! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Amey, thanks for stopping by! I love Maoz, you can't go wrong with falafel and unlimited salad! ;)
DeleteHappy Cow is the best website for finding vegan food around the world, it has never let me down! :)
Bargain! Those pancakes look gorgeous. Sorry the scramble was bland. When it's bad, it can be really bad...
ReplyDeleteI totally ate that brunch when I was in Barcelona!
