I am not the biggest fan of sweet potatoes normally but I thought that a shepherd's pie with lots of garlic, sriracha and chipotle chillis sounded interesting. I knew I would be in for some interesting recipes when I bought The Veggie-Lovers' Sriracha Cookbook!
I made a few substitutions (as I always do with cookbook recipes) but kept all of the essential elements- tempeh, sweet potato, sriracha, chipotle chilli and garlic (in the form of ali i oli). I added yellow split-peas and broccoli to the mixture. It was really nice and I can't wait to try more recipes from this cookbook!
That sounds and looks great! There's a chill in the air here today, and shepherd's pie would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen! I'm used to traditional Irish shepherd's pie so this was an interesting change! If you like sriracha or chilli sauce in general I would recommend the Sriracha cookbook, lots of fun, creative recipes :)
