Dr Oetker Chocolate cake mixture

'Jugosa' means 'juicy' but I assume for cake it means 'dense' , 'rich' or 'moist' 

Despite my changes my cake looks like the cake on the box!

I know I should have no excuse for using a cake mix when chocolate cake is so easy to make, but I do have one, I swear! Pure cocoa powder is hard to get here, every supermarket shelf is flowing with Cola Cao and drinking chocolate but as I found from experience, sweetened drinking chocolate powder does not a good chocolate cake make (it's only about 25% cocoa if you're lucky). It was easier to get an accidentally-vegan cake mix than to get cocoa powder.

Instead of the eggs the box asked me to use (pfft who's a box to tell me what to do!) I added soured soya milk (soya milk + vinegar) and some oil, very much improvising until the mixture became to a thick, pourable batter. Baked it as per the instructions on the box (I do sometimes listen to boxes!) and it turned out perfectly! So rich and chocolatey! Despite what the box said I did not get 12 slices out of it... the picture above is half the cake cut into two slices, so I got four!

Note, I have since found pure cocoa powder in El Corte Inglés. The end of a brief foray into cake mixes!
