I've been scurrying around Barcelona like a little vegan mouse, looking for all the vegan treats!
I found the organic supermarket on my road, it's called Biospace. It's absolutely jam-packed full of stuff, I haven't had time to look at everything yet but the most striking thing has been the selection of non-dairy milks and yogurts. They have the regular milks like soya, oat, rice, almond, and the less-usual-but-still-available-at-home milks such as amaranth, quinoa and hazelnut. But there was also spelt, barley and tiger-nut amongst others!
I could have been there all day reading labels and consulting the dictionary!
There were also oat, rice, almond and hazelnut postres. I got some muesli milk to try, which is a mixture of almond, oat, rice and amaranth milk with added calcium.
Now I just need to buy some muesli!

I also paid a visit to one of the vegan restaurants in Barcelona, Juicy Jones.
I went in at around 7pm, which meant that it was quiet. I didn't take any pictures, simply because I wanted to enjoy my food. I was just thrilled at the novelty of being able to order anything of the menu! I got the set menu, which was €8.95 for three courses.

My starter was houmous. I was expecting maybe some pitta bread or little dippers but no, it was just a bowl of houmous! Beautiful houmous may I add. I put it on some of the free bread and some of my companion's vegetable salad but I couldn't finish the entire bowl. I'm not used to eating a dip by itself, you use a spoon or a fork?
My main was a vegan pizza with side salad. The pizza had tofu and pesto, and wasn't entirely unlike Blazing Salads' vegan pizza. While the pizza was lovely the mayonaise on the coleslaw side salad was a bit tasteless.
Dessert brought a chocolate cake. The cake was lovely, not very sweet, more of a dark chocolate cake.
I'm not one to complain about good vegan cake, especially when I didn't have to make it myself!
Overall the meal was lovely, homely food. Something I could probably whip up myself if I wanted to, but nonetheless nice to have in a restaurant. The bathroom was full of 'Go vegan' stickers and graffitti. The waiter was lovely and the service was great. I'm definately going to go back to try the rest of their menu!

Ooh lovely!! The restaurant sounds amazing. We had EcoMil milk in Italy too, I remember the first time I saw millet milk and was absolutely baffled! Glad you're having a good time :)
