Redwoods turkey-style slices, green tea sweets, white chocolate buttons, cherry yoghurt and milkshakes

I love trying new food, even if I think I mightn't like something my curiosity gets the better of me! This is true of my dabbles into meat-subs.
I tried the Redwood's turkey slices at the weekend simply because they were giving them away free at work, who am I to turn down free vegan food?
I suppose the best thing I can say about them is that they actually taste like turkey. Its not that they tasted bad its just that I don't have a taste for meat any more, they reminded me too much of turkey, which unnerved me.
I'm glad that I tried them but I wouldn't buy them.

I was in the Asian supermarket today (don't get me started on my love for the Asian market!) and I got these green tea flavoured sweets. I bought them because I was curious as to how green tea would manifest itself as a flavour.
They're nice, they're very sweet but don't really have a tea flavour.
The texture is a bit strange though, which is just because I'm not used to the type of bean-based confectionery that's typically Asian.
I really wanted to buy some of those buns with the bean paste in the middle but they have caesin in them.

I was really excited to find these dairy-free white chocolate buttons!
I've had the milk chocolate buttons before but its very hard to get the white ones. For some reason no where stocks them, not even Tesco. I love white buttons, so when I saw them I bought all the packets on the shelf!
They're really nice, especially in some cherry yogurt!

I love cherry yogurt and I love large amounts of it! I ordered this lovely 400g container of it in work. I think that discount could be the death of me!

While I was in town today I went to Shakes , the new milkshake bar on Dame street which will make milkshakes with soya milk and ice cream. I was so excited, I was really looking forward to trying a peanut butter milkshake, but my dreams were dashed. They 'hadn't gotten in any soya milk today'. I'm hoping its a once-off because I love seeing businesses catering to vegans, I would definitely support them.

  1. Hi there! I love your blog :) Where did you get the white chocolate buttons, I've never seen those ones either... ooh exciting! And I've also been to Shakes and they haven't had soya milk. Same for a lot of people I know. Apparently they have it in though now. I also LOVE the asian market ^_^

I got the white chocolate buttons in Health Matters on Grafton Street, its the only place I've seen them. Yeah, the Asian market is amazing, the one on Drury Street has vegan cake and vegan oreos! Oh grand, I'll have to give Shakes another try then, thanks XD
