I found this new cream cheezly in Down to Earth along with the V Pud. It seems to be very new as it isn't on the VBites website yet. I used to love cream cheese in my pre-vegan days and I have never found the perfect vegan cream cheese. Sheese is too vinegary, Tofutti is too sweet. For a long time they've been the only two dairy-free options, so it's nice to have more choices.
My first impression was that a tube is very odd packaging for cream cheese, a resealable tub would be a better choice. The cheese is thick but spreadable (once you dig it out of the tube with a knife). Tastewise I would say it is a savoury cream cheese, a lighter version of their cheddar-style cheese. Makes a delicious sandwich but not sure if it would make a great cheesecake.
This looks quite interesting - but you're right it is an odd packet since you can't reseal it. I've never really made my mind up about vegan cheese but this looks worth trying :)
ReplyDeleteI might have to try this if I can get my hands of it. I enjoy toffuti cream cheese but a cheesier cheese spread would be nice too.
