V Pud vegan black pudding

I recently found this vegan black pudding in Down to Earth in Dublin city centre. I have never eaten non-vegan black pudding (I think it being made from blood was sufficiently off-putting). I grilled four slices to have with beans on toast. As veganoo said, the taste is quite distinctive. I thought that it was quite earthy and herby, unlike any vegan sausages I've had before. Not my favourite sausage ever but it was not unpleasant, I would definitely eat it again. Good for something different. Next time I would either brush with oil before grilling or just fry, I think that it would benefit from the crispy coating.

  1. Ooh, I didn't know vegan black pudding existed. I've never had the non-vegetarian stuff but I agree this sounds more appealing!
