Food in jars

I finally found Speculoos outside of Belgium! It was in El Corte Inglés next to the peanut butter. I like to use it to make Speculoos muffins based on the peanut butter cupcake recipe in 'Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World'.

I'm sure I have talked about my love of All i Oli sauce before, it is a traditionally egg-free garlic oil emulsion that is like garlic mayonnaise. Be careful, alot of brands of All I Oli sauce have eggs in them just because it is easier to make with eggs than just with an oil emulsion.
Tsk tsk.

Ikea tångkorn vegan seaweed caviar. Salty and seaweedy but not too strong.

  2. Hi Vanilla Rose, thanks for your comment! :)

Yeah you can get it in Ikea, just in the fridge in the Swedish food market with the rest of the non-vegan stuff. It is just seaweed but it comes in perfect little balls so I get the feeling that there is some molecular gastronomy magic going on!

  3. Ikea in the UK? Never thought of looking for vegan food there.

    1. Hi Veganoo, thanks for your comment!

Yeah the food market in Ikea is great, and is the same pretty much worldwide (I'm not in the UK). Other vegan stuff I have found there includes rye bread mix, frozen rosti, big bags of vegan crisps and unusual jams. Coming up to Christmas you can get vegan flat-pack gingerbread houses! :)
