Blueberries and Bratwurst

Up until a few years ago it wouldn't really have occured to me that the summer is the season for berries. In Ireland blueberries have to be imported anyway, but I try to buy them frozen when they're out of season. It usually works out cheaper too and they last longer. However, there seems to be a distinct lack of frozen fruit in this otherwise wonderful city! Blueberries are available fresh but not everywhere, which means that they're un pocito carro. I'm saving up my money to buy some to freeze, as I've already done with strawberries and raspberries. Oddly enough I have been able to justify spending money on blueberry chocolate from Lidl and blueberry mochi from the Asian supermarket. Shows where my priorities lie!

I'm also slowly but surely working my way through the menu at Gopal. Today I tried the vegan bratwurst with saurkraut, mustard and what I think was a slice of Toffuti mozzerella cheese. I got it simply because it was something I wouldn't normally eat, and why stick to what you know when you can eat everything on the menu! Not being a fan of mustard and only having encountered one brand of vegan sausages that I like I was a little bit wary of what monstrosity I may be given but I have to say that it was amazing, like everything else I've had there. I didn't get a picture simply because I was too hungry!
