I haven't been doing as much cooking as I would like recently, so this weekend when I was thinking of a sandwich filler to prepare for this week's lunches I raided the press to see if I could make anything unusual. I had green lentils and olives so the Olive-Lentil burgers from Isa Does It seemed like a good choice. Although they don't look very pretty, the flavours and texture are amazing. I love really hearty, savoury veggie burgers, and am looking forward to this week's lunches.
As is clear from previous blog entries, I love snack bars. The procurement of snack bars has become something of a hobby for me! For something different I decided to make some of my own, as I haven't experimented with homemade bars for a while. Like the burgers, these are not pretty but are very tasty! For the peanut butter bars I mixed soaked dates, vanilla rice protein powder, mixed nuts & seeds and peanut butter together in the mini-chopper. For the chocolate I did the same, but with cocoa powder. Both were delicious, but dates and cocoa powder go together especially well.
