Sorry for the two-week break, I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and New Year!
★ Chocolate chip cookies baked with the Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookie mix. I used a tablespoon of ground flaxseed and a little bit more oil to replace the egg, which worked perfectly. There seem to be two different Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookie mixes on the go in shops at the moment, one in a box (vegan) and one in a pouch (not vegan) so watch out for that.
★ I love tea and I got a set of lovely Palais Des Thés teas for Christmas. There's even a rooibos Earl Grey!
★ New Year's Eve nibbles...
☆ Vegusto classic cheese. I wanted the piquant but nowhere had it between Christmas and New Year's, I could only get the classic. I never had blue cheese pre-vegan, so I don't know how it compares. I feared it would be bland, and I thought so at first bite, but then the flavour started to grow on me. The packet states that it has a mushroomy flavour, which does emerge along with the authentic cheesiness of Vegusto which sometimes makes me panic for a minute that I'm eating non-vegan cheese! I would, however, love for Vegusto to get better packaging; it's hard to open, it difficult to photograph and doesn't re-seal.
☆ Smoked tofu is a classic, never lets me down. Since I came back from Spain I feel like the Taifun stuff has gotten really expensive, somewhere between €4.50-€5 for the smoked tofu. In Spain it was about €3 :( I would also like a re-sealable packet please.
☆ Olives, a perfect nibble. They also remind me of being in Spain.
