I just learned that there is a vegan-orientated farm animal sanctuary in Slane, Co. Meath. It looks like they do amazing work and are working on vegan outreach and education, and I'm happy to say that I donated a little bit of money (not much, but hopefully it'll be of some use to them).
Their website is http://www.edenfarmanimalsanctuary.com/. Parts of the site are under construction but you can look at photos, read a bit about their work and donate to a worthy vegan cause. There's also a profile of them on the Vegan Ireland website as they're currently looking for volunteers.
Update: I was sent a lovely thank-you card in the post from 'Sandra and all the other animals at Eden'. I assume Sandra is the beautiful turkey on the front...
