Madrid

I'm just back to Barcelona after an über-touristy après-exam break in Madrid.
I ate alot of Moaz falafel, three-course hostel breakfasts (I bought my own Alpro/Provamel soya milk and spread to keep in the fridge), microwaved rice and elaborate sandwiches composed from the supermarket. We did go to a nice little vegetarian restaurant which we happened to find on our travels, simply called Restaurante Vegetariano where we had some slightly more gourmet fare. Moved by the mixture of great food and rude service, we posted a review on Happy Cow. Unfortunately I didn't get to make it to the Loving Hut, but maybe next time. I also bared the 30°C heat with some yummy iced matcha tea soya lattes from Faborit, a chain of coffee shops that can be found around the city.

This is the Palacio Cristal, a famous Madrid landmark. The pond in front of it is full of ducks, swans, fish and turtles. As clichéd as it sounds, watching animals swim and run around undisturbed makes me glad that I'm a vegan!
