I've been a busy bee as of late, and have had more than enough crisps, pipas and chocolate to satisfy my junk-lust. However, over the weekend I did venture into microwave baking, purely for the hell of it!
I wanted to make these but I hadn't any cocoa powder. It's quite expensive to buy here for some reason, maybe it's because they prefer Cola Cao and other such abominations to chocolate! So I tried making them without it, and obviously using apple purée instead of evil, hideous banana. It became a sort of apple, chocolate-chip.. thing. It wasn't bad but it wasn't fantastic either. I think it may need the chocolate! I may have to try and factor cocoa powder into the budget!
Speaking of factoring chocolate into the budget.. you have to treat yourself sometimes, right? I got this last week, it is delicious! Also, it may have been the cheapest vegan chocolate spread available, it was only €3.56. Surprisingly enough I like it because it's not overwhelmingly chocolaty, it's more like nut butter with a bit of chocolate than vice-versa.
It is therefore quite tolerable on bread!
Someday I will justify spending over a fiver on a jar of Chocoreale duo!
