Firstly this article The Comparative Anatomy of Eating explains how humans more closely resemble herbivores than carnivores. Just because humans have 'canine' teeth doesn't mean that they are meant to eat meat (I have actually heard this argument being made by someone with a doctorate in science... they really should know better!)
Also, this article 'The Moral Crusade Against Foodies' makes for compelling reading. Myers' acerbic, witty attack on the elitism of foodies is definitely worth a read.
I found these through the Vegetarian Food For Thought podcast, which I'm currently obsessed with!
I've lost count of the number of times people have used that as an arguement for eating meat. Ridiculous! And now I can have something to back up my defense rants, yay!
