Yet Another Jaunt To Belgium (I found some Speculoos spread)

My absence can be explained by the fact that I am just back from a nice little reading week break in Brussels. I love Belgium, this is the second time I've visited there this year! Its perfect for me, I get to practise my French and indulge in the wonderful culinary delights I've found there, the latest discovery being Speculoos spread! For some reason I missed it the first time I was there but its sold in every Belgian supermarket and the Lotus brand is vegan! I saw another brand that had honey in it so remember to check. My Google search has shown me that I am by no means the first vegan to discover the delight that is Speculoos, (it has been blogged about here and here and discussed here) but its just amazing! I tried to bring some home but the airport security confiscated it! I did manage to bring home two boxes of Belvita bars (the raspberry and cranberry ones are vegan) and some of the hempburgers I fell for the last time I there.
I like to think that my love for Belgian food counts as a part of the 'Eating Around The World Challenge'!
I was only there for four days so I didn't discover any new vegan places.
I did eat alot of falafel from Mr Falafel though! Its up near a huge second-hand bookshop called the Pele-Mele which is most definitely worth a visit for those of you who don't mind a good browse!
