Even though I use kale in smoothies all the time I've never managed to get it to turn out that beautiful green colour before, most likely because I usually go a bit mad with the blueberries!
Today was just half an apple, half a pear, a big handful of frozen kale, some frozen plum, hemp seeds and a dash of agave syrup.
Recipe for my loaf:
1/2 cup of Cashews
2tb olive oil
One onion (I used two shallots)
One garlic clove (I used powder)
2 cups of mixed beans
1 cup of uncooked oats
1/4-1/2 cup of stock (I only needed a tiny bit of it)
2 replaced eggs
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp of parsley
1 tsp cumin
Dash of pepper
A few splashes of worchestire sauce
2 tb soya sauce
I mixed it all together, put it in a loaf tin, baked for an hour at 180 degrees and the result was a really tasty loaf (especially with ketchup)!
As an aside, I'm aware that the measurements for the recipe are in American cups, alot of the recipes I use are American and although as an Irish person who has grown up with the metric system I'm a little confused by and distainful of the cup system, I have a measuring cup at home that converts to American cups, so it just makes my life easier. I still can't get used to measuring temperature in Fahrenheit though, all my temperatures are in Celsius, which begs the question why doesn't anyone use kelvin?
