Farmers' Market & Health Food Shop

I happened to find myself in town early-ish this morning (about half 11), the ideal time to avail of the organic vegetable market in Temple Bar.
I've been to it loads of times but have never had the decisiveness (or money) to actually buy anything!
I've been stuck in a bit of a food rut recently, so today I decided to throw caution to the wind and buy some vegetables!
I got some ruby chard, simply because I've never tried it before, some purple cauliflower, for the same reason, a head of broccoli, a carrot, some brussel sprouts (haven't tried them in years, I wanted to give them another chance) and a tiny cute little pumpkin, all for €6.

The mixed baby leaves I got in Fallon & Byrne, I love going in there and ogling all the colourful, unusual and expensive vegetables, the only thing I ever buy there are salad leaves because they've a really good selection of them and the company they buy from is based locally to me. The mixed beans I got in the health food shop.
I also got some dates in Holland & Barrett, they've a permanent offer of buy one get one half price on anything in the shop, so I got two 250g bags of dates for €2, which I was well pleased with!

When I got home all my vegetables were cut up (I cut my finger peeling that pumpkin, it better be a damned good pumpkin!) and stored appropriately, mainly in the freezer, only the salad leaves and the carrot went in the fridge.

Obsession Du Jour: listening to vegan podcasts during my frequent long bus journeys. I mainly Veganfreak, but I have downloaded some Vegan Radio ones, which I will get around to listening to very soon.
