The lunchbox I bought was less than cheap, I'm afraid to admit how much I paid for it but it's good quality and just beautiful so it's worth every yen! I bought it and it's matching bag in Loft, the big department store in Tokyo, which actually has a 'lunch market' ie huge bento section in the homewares department. There were matching chopsticks available too but instead I bought different collapsable ones which are quite similar in pattern and fit more easily into the bag. The other little accessories I bought in 100 yen shops; little plastic animal fruit forks, onigiri wrapping, sauce containers, a tub of bento grass and chopsticks.
I've been using the bento for college since I've returned, and I must say that despite it being a typically small Japanese bento I do love it. Commuting with a schoolbag every day means that I appreciate how small and light it is, and I have been quite surprised at how filling a lunch you can fit into such small containers. The bag is slightly larger than the box so I usually include an extra little container of nuts or a cereal bar.

Lovely bento stuff! I'm quite jealous! If I went to Japan I bet I'd bring a whole suitcase of cute stuff back with me, I just wouldn't be able to resist it! x
